Weeks available to swap
SwapStay.club just launched, and founding owners are listing now. Every live listing will appear here as a specific week owned by a verified member of another brand, with that owner's rating and swap history — and their 3 desired swaps, so you can spot right away whether your week is one of the trades they're looking for. The Fair-Swap Score compares season, unit size, and resort demand so a July beach week doesn't trade for a mud-season studio — you always see the balance before you offer, and it's the same number the other owner sees. No hidden trading power decides what your week is “worth” behind your back.
Your week, your leverage
You never hand your week to SwapStay. It stays yours — to use, rent, or swap — until the moment you accept a specific trade. That's the difference between a swap and a deposit.
Your owned week
The week you own is the week you offer — it never gets deposited anywhere, and it stays yours to use, rent, or swap until the moment you accept a specific trade.
How your week works on SwapStay
List it once with its resort, dates, and unit size — plus your 3 desired swaps, the trades you'd accept for it — and it gets an open Fair-Swap Score that every owner can see. When you request a swap, the other owner sees your week — not your name or contact details — until both sides accept.
Own a mid-season week — the kind exchange companies grade down with trading power and then tell “nothing available”? On SwapStay a season boost lets you close the value gap yourself and take a genuine shot at peak-season weeks.
List a week for swap
Tell us what you have — and the 3 swaps you'd take for it. Every listing shows your week plus your 3 desired swaps, so other owners can match against what you actually want. Founding listings are reviewed by hand and go live when swapping opens in your destination.
Join the waitlist
Swapping opens once enough founding owners in a destination have listed their weeks — and waitlisters in that destination hear about it first, by email, before anyone else. Tell us where you want to go and what you own.
Founding members get matched first
Founding members — the first 100 owners who list a week — are matched first when SwapStay opens swapping, and keep founding status for life.
SwapStay is free for everyone — no listing fee, no swap fee, no membership fee — and joining the waitlist commits you to nothing. When your destination opens, you get the first email and first pick of the weeks listed there.

Mid-season week? You still get a shot.
At RCI and Interval, your week is converted into trading power — a grade they assign, you can't see, and you can't argue with. Mid-season weeks rank below peak weeks, so the resorts everyone wants are gone before your number comes up. That ranking is a big reason “no availability” is the industry's #1 complaint. SwapStay has no gatekeeper: your week is an offer a real owner can weigh, and these four boosts let you close a value gap yourself instead of being filtered out by an algorithm.
Future-week credit
Offer next year's week — or a second week you own — alongside this one. A peak-season owner planning ahead may well value two mid-season weeks over one peak week.
Trade size for season
Give your 2BR for their 1BR, or your full 7 nights for 5 of theirs. Space and length are value too — owners can strike that balance directly, no trading-power table required.
Shoulder-date flexibility
Take the week just before or after peak. Owners listing a peak week often hold shoulder weeks as well — and a flexible, boosted offer is the one that gets accepted.
Three-way swap chains
They don't have to want your week for you to get theirs. If another owner wants yours, SwapStay can close a three-owner loop so everyone lands where they want to go.
Boosts are attached when you send a swap request — once swapping opens in your destination, you'll add them right in the request, under “Boost your offer.” Nothing is owed to the other owner unless they accept, and every agreed boost is written into the swap agreement.
How a swap works
Modeled on the flow owners already know from exchange companies — minus the deposit and the membership tiers, and completely free: SwapStay charges no fees at all.
List & verify
Verify your ownership once (deed or member number, checked with your resort system). List the week you can offer, plus your 3 desired swaps — the destinations, months, and unit sizes you'd accept — so matching starts from what you actually want.
Search & match
Search every brand's owner weeks in one place. Fair-Swap Scores flag balanced trades — and if your week scores lower, add a boost (a future-week credit, fewer nights, flexible dates) instead of being shut out. Widen your dates or destinations and matches multiply.
Agree & lock
Both owners accept in the app. SwapStay generates a written swap agreement — names, resorts, confirmation numbers, who pays any guest-certificate or resort fees.
Confirm & travel
Each owner adds the other's name to their reservation with their own resort — the same guest-name method owners use today — and SwapStay confirms both sides before anyone books flights.
Why not just use RCI or Interval?
The big exchange companies are clearinghouses: you deposit your week into their pool and buy back someone else's with fees at every step. They also grade your week with trading power — their private measure of what it deserves — which is why mid-season owners so often hear “nothing available.” Here's how the models compare, using researched 2025–26 figures.
| SwapStay | RCI | Interval International | TUG Direct Exchange / OwnerTrades | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| How it works | Search owner weeks across all brands, swap directly with a named owner | Deposit your week/points into managed inventory; book from the pool | Same clearinghouse model — deposit, then search or request | Owner-to-owner listings, but manual: you find, email, and negotiate yourself |
| How your week's value is set | An open Fair-Swap Score both owners see — and if you're short, you can add a boost or negotiate to close the gap | Hidden “trading power” (Trading Power Units) that RCI assigns; the formula isn't published and there's no appeal | Trading power and request priority set by Interval — depositing early raises your power, owning mid-season lowers it | No score at all — pure owner-to-owner negotiation |
| Brands covered | All brands in one search | ~4,100–4,300 affiliated resorts | Thousands of resorts, 75+ countries | TUG: any owner · OwnerTrades: Marriott owners only |
| Annual membership | Free — no membership fee, ever | ~$109/yr (Weeks), ~$134/yr (Points) | ~$99/yr Basic; Gold ~$163; Platinum ~$238 | TUG: small membership fee · OwnerTrades: $2 setup + $12/yr search |
| Fee per exchange | Free — $0. No exchange fee, no swap fee, nothing | ~$299 per 7-night Weeks exchange; Points $59–$349 by length | ~$229–$264 per full-week exchange | $0 exchange fee on both |
| Do you keep your week? | Yes — until you accept a specific swap | No — depositing surrenders it to the pool | No — deposit required to exchange | Yes — no deposit on either |
| Trust & recourse | Verified ownership, written agreement, both reservations confirmed in-app | Company processes the reservation | Company processes the reservation | Trust-based; your own written agreement is the only contract |
RCI and Interval figures are approximate, compiled from resale-industry sources for 2025–26 (Timeshares Only, Premier Timeshare Resale, A Timeshare) because neither company publishes a single public US fee page — confirm current fees at rci.com and intervalworld.com before acting. Built for the part forums can't do: trust
A direct swap has no middleman by default — so the platform has to be one. These are the safeguards in the design, drawn from how private swaps succeed and fail today.
Verified before listed
Ownership is confirmed with the resort system before a week can be listed, and maintenance-fee status must be current — most systems won't honor a reservation or transfer when fees are in arrears.
Agreement in writing, always
Every accepted swap generates the written agreement owner communities like TUG recommend: both names, resorts, confirmation numbers, dates, unit details, fee responsibilities, and cancellation terms.
Know the scam patterns
- Anyone demanding upfront "registration" or "closing" fees — the FTC's #1 timeshare scam sign
- Cold calls claiming a swap partner or buyer is "already lined up"
- Payment by wire, crypto, or gift cards
- Pressure to decide immediately
On SwapStay, money never moves between owners for a swap — a week trades for a week. Report fraud at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
The same exchange, in your pocket
SwapStay is designed mobile-first: the full search, Fair-Swap matching, and swap confirmation work identically on phone and desktop, and the site installs to your home screen like an app — no app-store download needed to start swapping.
